Music artist Jerri Bokeno releases new single on Young Pals Music

Dance/Pop singer/songwriter Jerri Bokeno is releasing the deliriously ambient track “My Love Is Yours” on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2012, on Young Pals Music. The new song, perhaps her most sultry record to date will premiere simultaneously on radio and all digital music platforms.

The haunting, sensuous song was produced by Ayhan Sahin, whose credits include projects with five “American Idol” finalists and productions with such superstars as Olivia Newton-John, Sandra Bernhard, and Sezen Aksu.

Written by Bokeno, Susanne White and Sahin, it pledges never-ending love with poetic refrains sung and spoken in French and English. These three successful songwriters have joined forces to create another potential hit that universally speaks to lovers the world over.

Jerri Bokeno has collaborated and worked with superstars ranging from Phil Spector to Cher. She has served as lead vocalist for numerous dance groove groups, including El Coco, Downtown Girls and Coney Island Chorus Girls, as well as a featured vocalist for jazz aficionado David Benoit. She is thrilled to be working with Young Pals Music and looks forward to future singles and collaborations with producer and owner, Ayhan Sahin.

An accompanying music video lensed by Christopher Holmes/Holmeswood Features will showcase Bokeno in the upcoming months.

Sahin founded independent label Young Pals Music in 2007, working with international artists across the globe. Young Pals Music will release a 14-song double-disc cast soundtrack for “Swedish Style: The Musical,” inspired by the captivating tale of the break-up of Swedish super group ABBA—a lesser-known but all-important chapter in the quartet’s fabled history.

For a decade starting in 1972, ABBA released eight studio albums and a staggering 73 hit singles. In all, Benny, Björn, Frida and Agnetha have sold more than 370 million albums around the world. But all good things come to an end, and ABBA’s demise was sullied with divorce between the two couples, internal strife and ultimately, dissolution.

The dramatized theatrical production—set in the early 1980s and rapt with love, loss, friendship, heartbreak and the penance of ultimate artistic immortality—illustrates the saga of beloved pop group Opus 10’s demise, following the break-up of the quartet’s two couples. Manager Anna pleads with members Reno, Rita, Kurt and Karla to deliver a final album that propels them beyond their “bubble gum” legacy and insures legendary status in the pop pantheon. Ultimately, the group’s primary nemesis turns out to be staring them in the mirror, as they strive to conjure their original magic one more time and achieve “immortality.”

“Swedish Style” was written by Ayhan Sahin and Selcen Pamuk.

The first disc comprises a full-cast vocal production featuring a 14-member cast; while the second is instrumental-only. The 13-piece band offers a robust palette of keyboards and piano; electric, classical, flamenco and acoustic guitars; percussion, bass, violin, cello, flute and sax.

Jose Promis is a Chilean-born singer/songwriter who resembles and is inspired by the troubadours of the old world, while staying firmly rooted in the 21st century. He began in the cabarets and independent theaters of Los Angeles in the mid 00s and has gone on to play throughout Europe.

The original version of “Lovesick,” featuring the siren-esque vocals of Karine Hannah, appears on the Promis album “Life is Grand!” This piano ballad version, as well as an electro-R&B remix by Ian Matthews, appear on the album “Love Stories.” Enjoy!

Bernhard is certainly best known for her colorful comic and theatrical performances, but here she culls a worldwide call for peace in the calming, tribal “Miracle of Lights,” featuring Sussan Deyhim, a composer, vocalist and performance artist who has long been at the forefront of the ancient mysticism of Middle Eastern music.

Produced by Ayhan Sahin and Mitch Kaplan, this song was part of the holiday compilation album “Breaking For The Holidays” released by Breaking Records in 2007.

Boarding the sleigh ride for Breaking Records’ first such collection are such timeless veterans as Chaka Khan and venerable comedienne Sandra Bernhard, alongside two favorites from the nation’s unstoppable top-rated TV series, “American Idol” and its rock n’roll sister “Rockstar Supernova,” as well as a handful of acts that may be less familiar—but as you will soon see, merit equal esteem.

American Idol favorite Jon Peter Lewis, a top 10 finalist in season three, swipes at the winter chill in “California Christmas,” which conjures Beach Boys meets Phil Spector. The harmony-packed track is an original composition by Sky Elobar, commandeered by producer Ayhan Sahin. Released in 2007 by Breaking Records.

The many million fans of American Idol will find particular delight in Vonzell Solomon, who percolates with signature warmth on “It’s Gonna Be a Cold Cold Christmas”—a song that sounds instantly familiar but is best known outside the U.S. as a hit in 1975 by Irish singer Dana. Vonzell recorded the track in 2007 with producer Ayhan Sahin.
